Someone needs to look sweet Bitzy’s in the eyes and tell us that this good girl doesn’t deserve the world. The pup was recently surrendered to the Animal House Shelter in Huntley, Illinois after being deemed “too old” by his former owners. It’s a reason that really is so frustrating. Who wouldn’t love this senior pup?

Bitzy is just precious. And while she might have a lot of years under her belt, there are still so many more when she could be the perfect family pet.

The dog went from living in her family home to living in an animal shelter. Which even in the best circumstances can be very hard on a dog. They’re essentially leaving the safety and security of their home for a life of inconsistency and loneliness. It’s heartbreaking really.

“When your family surrenders you to a shelter because you got too old,” the text caption reads. “Please help us find her a forever or foster family that will be committed to her for the rest of her life. She deserves better than shelter life in her last years,” they wrote.

This story darn near broke the internet’s heart. “How can someone abandon their senior dog??? She deserves better,” one person wrote. “I’m so sorry, let’s find this precious angel a forever home,” another commenter agreed. “Will never understand how anyone can do this,” one devastated person wrote. “Sweet Bitzy. Can’t even begin to imagine how sad and devastated she feels now,” added another commenter.
